Bridging The Gap

This is the moment we all have been waiting for.  It is the time to set yourself free, throw your hands in the air and set the dance floor on fire. This is the time to show everyone what we have got. This is the moment to make the noise and celebrate the real spirit… The spirit of “JIVE”

As Jive reached its conclusion, I looked at the digicam’s collection of vivacious and cheerful pics. Those pics of the “budding engineers” at the DJ night and snaps of that “fire in the hole” at robotics arena. Pics of those miniskirt beauties at the theme walk and clicks of those “ignited minds” at the tech quiz.

And with that I could clearly hear the 2 GB memory card of the cam shouting at the top of its voice… Man, you have captured a lot many adorable moments which you are going to rejoice your entire lifetime. Somewhere among those moments of bliss, there was a simple snap which was catching my attention again and again. It drove an unusual kind of sensation in me. There was nothing exceptional about that pic, yet there was a reason that why it was the most rejoiced picture of my JIVE-11.

The picture showed two lecture seats, where once two of the best friends used to sit, chatter and share all their good and bad times. These were the two seats which together remained vacant in the morning lecture when there was a CS match, the previous night. These were the only two seats which were occupied during the “mass bunk”( you can’t be social when you have a short attendance :P). But, one day these seats were never the same again…..

A misunderstanding ruined it all; from friends those seats became strangers, the conversations of hours reduced to a mere hiii. When the eyes of those two seats accidently looked at each other, the only felling that aroused was of revulsion. As the time flew, those seats moved apart, vanished from each other’s life so quickly as if they were never meant to be together.

People are sad because they build walls instead of bridges.” But, most often they forget one simple thing, that best engineers are the once who build the strongest of the bridges not the once who erect the toughest of the walls.

One day, one such engineer descended like an angel from the heaven, saw that the crack was widening slowly and slowly, realized that if nothing is done then this trench could become a valley. So, choose to build a bridge. A bridge that cleared all the differences and brought back those two seats closed together again.

I never knew a simple event of JIVE could teach me a life lesson, but it did. That’s the reason why this simple picture made an impact which the best of the clicks can’t ….

# There is no other bigger reason of happiness for me today than the “super-awesome” news from Rohit Sharma.

# Jive ended, after 2 not so interesting days, at least third day was Fun.

# I m in love with “IIT days and my Failure race”. Reading it has become an addiction now.

# T-1 ……just 2 more days to go. 😦 😦
